uhoh. i'm having triplag, as fungyin calls it. i think i'm really really starting to miss the times in perth..

i miss aaron's hotel! our temporary oh-so-cosy abode in perth! the not-so-artistic paintings on the walls, the room where we had some of our meals, the lift lobby, the lounge and its funky sofas! like the tall tall one.

i miss my 312 room-mates, eunice and wan ling! funny lah. there were times when we would fall asleep together in the middle of doing something, for example watching tv or talking. haha then wan ling would wake up in the middle of the night to brush her teeth. i miss them!

i miss the saxtion. yi siong, ansley, hafiz, esther and me. we took loads of saxtion photos, almost everywhere we went. haha we're so gonna plaster our faces all over the saxtion cupboard. i'm glad i got to know them much better during the trip. love the saxtion!

i miss having meals with the saxtion every now and then. and occasionally combining with the double reeds, french horns, cornets and miss ho!

i miss playing cards with a few bandies in yi siong's room on the 2nd night. playing daidee and cheat and laughing at one another's dumbness. and not to forget vincent's card tricks!

i miss those late nights out on the streets with that bunch of bandies. well, maybe not so late even though it felt late. roaming the streets, bursting out into songs, taking loads of seriously retarded photos and videos, window-shopping, visiting the convenience store, and just going crazy and embarassing ourselves on the street. hahaha.

i miss doing chori chori and chicken dance out of the blue with fellow bandies! the video we took at denmark is now in mindy's camera.

i miss karma chalet. and the awesome night sky. it was a dream come true to see so many stars. and my chillingollah cabin-mates.. yingjia, yi mei, lynette, deborah, rachel and emmeline! even though our chalet was empty during the 2 nights, but i had a great time with these people. teasing emme, watching that french movie, cooking competition, enjoying our pasta, trying but failing to set up a good fire, rachel's candle-blowing. i miss our cabin. it was freezing cold but cosy all the same. i miss that wooden feel!

i miss that night playing germs in mych's cabin! and celebrating alison's birthday with the pictionary gang (though i'm not in it). and sleeping over in that cosy bundle of blankets and pillows. we made alot of noise during germs. but it was a whole lot of fun. broke my specs frame then but who cares. thanks eunice and ansley for the specs!

i miss esther! my bus-mate cum saxtion-mate whom i got to know much better during the trip. listening to mp3s (sop sax solos!), eating ice-cream (my favourite), taking loads of photos, shopping, huddling close to each other to keep warm, and basically talking about anything under the sun! and all the stupid things we did. (:

i miss those gorgeous sceneries. the amazing sunset we saw at the gap and natural bridge. the waves and the rocks. the colours of autumm at the fruit orchard. the breathtaking view from king's park. the clear blue sky and the blue gradient. the lunch by the swan river. the cool, green and clean grasses and fields. the beautiful nightview at the windfarm. the double rainbow we saw at the valley of the giants, the treetop walk. all the 4 rainbows we saw that day at albany. the majestic seaside houses alison and i spotted on the cruise to fremantle. so many!

i miss spotting random moomoos and mehmehs on the 5hour ride to albany. no kangeroos and koalas though. ahhhh.

i miss the 'left lane must turn left' sign. and the 'one way' sign pointing to heaven. and the 'whatever', 'bhb', 'pureblack' car tags we saw. damn cool.

i miss hopping unto a trolley by the road with mindy and having vincent to push us around like crazy people. it was super exciting okay! first night if i'm not wrong. crazyyyy.

i miss shopping with fungyin, esther, ansley and jocelyn at harbourtown. even though i was almost as blind as a bat then and felt quite giddy from my unclear vision. thanks fungyin for taking care of me and constantly asking whether i was okay. it really mattered alot to me. miss holding hands with her and walking around.

i miss comparing heights with the singapore ai de! hahaha.

i miss acting as guai kids with esther that time after getting down from the cruise. we decided to be obedient followers to john the leader, so we held hands and followed him very closely. hahaha. lame! and all the crapping with esther, john and joel. and all the talk about the last lamp-post, "there will be no last lamp-post because the earth is round!". and that pineapple-look-alike-tree. hilarious!

i miss that italian restaurant where crayons were provided for us to draw on the tables! miss drawing and writing crap with esther. miss playing tic-tac-toe with her and yi siong! uber cool okay. if only they had better crayons.

i miss that frantic preparation for alison's birthday celebration at the hotel with jiahao, kenneth and hafiz. all that last minute planning and running through. actually i wasn't supposed to be involved, but jiahao kinda pulled me into it. felt quite bad for alison when the band started teasing her, but sigh, what could i have done then? anyway, hope she liked the surprise, even though i thought it was quite obvious.

i miss those performances. yeah. i had my very first performance as a band member at the music festival. the place was ulu and we had little audience. and even worse, we played horribly. so there goes my first. but subsequently, we got better, and the performance at the bandstand at denmark was great! it was a totally different experience, having to perform in front of a pond, with random aussies and ducks as the audience. the ducks even flew across the pond during the sax ensemble for animations. try picturing the scene!

i miss our ensemble performance at harbourtown, though it was a major flop. i so badly wanted to run into subway and bury my face into the cookie jar or something. our chords sounded really good and romantic sketch was okay, but the saxtion totally broke down when we played happy band marching medley. oh well. it's alright. at least we had learnt a lesson yeah?

i miss that night at 601 with the percs, miss ho and a few other bandies. i felt kinda enlightened and more knowledgeable after hearing all of them talk about various matters. as we were supposed to have a 5hour busride to albany the next day, some of us proceeded to miss ho's room at around 2am to hear her talk about band issues. man i felt like a noob can! i didn't know there were so many underlying issues that would either make the band, or break the band.

yeah and during the trip, i found myself respecting the percussion people more and more each day. despite all those yaddayaddas about various people, something wan ling told me one night kinda struck me. she said that despite all those hearsays and gossips, we must have an open mind and an open heart, and to accept the people around us. something like that. and there was this time when i was touched by jasmine's acceptance of someone, making an effort to talk to that person. it was also awfully nice of the percs to accept another someone whom many were unable to accept. acceptance is the keyword.

and the way they did things and all the efforts they made to solve problems really made me respect them alot alot. i salute them for their attitude! i think it's really great to have such people in the band, and i've so much to learn from them.

and gosh. i miss perth so much! i had my fair share of ups and downs, highs and lows during the trip. some bonds were made, some bonds were starting to break. it brought some people closer, and it also pulled some further apart. i got to see different sides to some people, for the better or for the worse. the trip was good i guess, in a way that i learned quite a lot from it, both music-wise and people-wise.

and my heart tells me that future band pracs are going to be somewhat different from what they were like in the past.
