Monday, July 4

i had a superb youth day today! (even though i spent most of it alone)

first i went to sam with charm the hottie. eleen and zhiyong were there too. and whoa. there were just so many southeast asian artworks displayed. many of which were in our syllabus. like boonma's 'black stupa', which really freaked me out. and the aep exhibition was, well, not that magnificent. but we saw many of our seniors' (and juniors') works. everyone's just except for ours. boohoo.

the world definitely needs happier artists.

then charm had to go off from cityhall to meet her parents and i was all by myself. so i walked to the esplanade! and yes charm, i finally knew what was the green tunnel you were telling me about.

i went to the theatres by the bay! nothing much lar. just sat around, ate my lunch, sun-tanned (jkjk) and took photos.

visited the merlions. buy one get one free? (:

walked to the vch area, past the fullerton hotel. and guess what? i hopped unto a rickshaw! woohoo! the uncle was really friendly. he thought i was malaysian. he was explaining stuff along the way to me while he cycled me to the singapore river. i felt really bad cos he wasn't young at all you know. and due to poor business, rickshaw-riders don't earn alot. *frowns* took some videos anyway.

he dropped me off before all the cafes and restaurants by the singapore river. i've a feeling singapore river had a better view last time, or why were people like lim cheng hoe so obsessed with it then? and i prefer nightviews. with an excessive amount of light pollution though.

walked all the way back to padang and the high court! they were preparing for ndp. and there were security guards and policemen practically everywhere, even in cityhall. due to the international olympics committee session i guess. so exciting! can't wait. raul's coming to singapore!!

so long, farewell, aufviedersehen, goodbye!

wow. i covered quite some distance today. to think i was wearing slippers. although it was damn tiring, but it was definitely worthwhile. maybe i should do some video art on rickshaw-riders. and hey! at least i know more about that area now and returned with satisfactory photos. *beams widely* great day huh.

of course it'd have been better if i could have gone to jb with the jmyf comm early morning. ahhhh. well. too bad.

and uh. school tmr.
